The Neem Tree

Botanical Name – Azadirachta indica 

Neem tree is very beneficial in all types of diseases. It is a large tree with the spread of its branches in 18-20 meters of the area. Neem tree can attain a height of 80 feet & diameter between two to two & half feet on maturity.

Life of the Neem tree is up to 200 years. 

Its leaves are dark green in color & bitter in taste. Its fruit tastes sweet & bitter with hard oval-shaped seeds. Neem flowers are off-white in color & have a scent. Neem Tree is from the mahogany family. It generally found in the Indian subcontinent. It is found all over India.

The tree can survive in all weathers, excess water can damage its roots. 

Neem trees can grow in all types of soils. It can be grown indoors or in a pot. It grows quickly & holds the roots.

Neem oil is good for medicinal usage & it has many antibacterial properties. Its oil is used as a mosquito repellent too. 

The bark of the tree is good for skin diseases its paste is applied to the affected area for relief. 

Neem leaves are useful in diabetes if chewed raw. Neem tree soft branches are used as Daatun (toothbrush) which keeps our teeth healthy. Toothpaste made of neem extract is available in markets too nowadays.
