Peepal is a sacred tree & it is worshipped across India. It has rich cultural value in India. Peepal is the only tree which gives oxygen all the day-night & purifies the air. It is a healthy tree. It is very useful for the environment.

Peepal tree lives extra than a thousand years. It is a lush green shady tree & its roots could span up to 100-200 meters. Its leaves are of heart-like shape with a long tail. The Height of the peepal tree goes up to 100 feet & in diameter between two to three meters. It is from the Moraceae family.  

The peepal tree is the medicinal tree & cures most of the ailments. According to Ayurveda each part of the tree is useful & used to treat diseases. 

Peepal leaves can cure skin disease. Eating ripe fruit of peepal can cure appetite-related problems. It has strong antioxidant properties too.

In the early years in the villages of India villagers used to eat in the plates made from the leaves of trees, peepal leaves are good for that.

Dried peepal wood is used for Vedic havan & Indian rituals.

Even its soft branches are used to feed elephants which are as good as feed.   

It is not advisable to grow peepal trees in-home or residential areas as their roots span in a very large area.
