Sheesham is a very useful tree its wood is widely used for timber in India. Its wood is known as rosewood & we call it Sheesham commercially.
Sheesham tree wood is famous for its long life & used in furniture. It is from the Fabaceae family.
It is a very good tree, flowers come in the month of February & yellow in color. Its fruit is like small beans & blossom in winters.
Sheesham tree height goes up to seventy to eighty feet & diameter between one to two & a half feet.
It is a shady tree & its roots enhance the fertility of the soil. Its leaves have small tips on both sides of the leaves. Sheesham tree life span 20 - 30 years.
Sheesham are of two type variety one is Local
(Desi) & the other one is Hybrid. Desi Sheesham matures in 25 to 30 years & Hybrid Sheesham matures in 10 to 12 years.
Its leaves are cold in nature.
