Banana is rich in potassium & calcium which make it a complete food.In India, it is consumed at large in fasting, & it is easily available fruit. Banana belongs to the Musaceae family.
The banana tree may height up to fifteen to twenty feet, depending on its varieties, & diameter up to fourteen inches.
Loamy soil is most preferred for banana cultivation, & soil for bananas shall have adequate fertility & moisture with good drainage. Banana does not grow well in saline solid soil.
New Banana studs grow its roots automatically & later you can shift it to another place. The banana tree grows well within ten to twelve months.
In Southern parts of India, banana leaves are used to serve food (commercial & domestic) & in weddings rituals, banana leaves presence is a must.
Banana flower's pink-colored bud extends downwards as the new small bananas grow. Gradually with time, the fingers develop in full-size banana. Initially, bananas are in green color & change their color to yellow on ripening. Green bananas are kept for three to four days to ripen.
In Southern India green bananas are used to make chips, vegetables many types of desserts.
