Mahogany tree is a majestic tree with a straight trunk that adds value to it. It has great commercial value as well because of its erected shape. Mahogany trees said to be from the regions of South Florida. In India, Jim Corbett National park & Kaziranga National park is identified as the place of Mahogany family in Northern Indian regions. Mahogany tree belongs to the family of Meliaceae. Mahogany tree attains a height of seventy feet or more, & a diameter of four to five feet. Mahogany tree life span is more than three years.

Deep, well-drained & fertile soils are considered good for the better growth of Mahogany trees. It prefers sandy/acidic soils to grow seamlessly. Winds raised from the bed are quite acceptable by the tree because the winds carry salty contents.

Seed propagation is the best way to grow Mahogany. Its seed is in brown color & quite big in size around six to eight inches. Once you sow the seed it germinates in a few weeks. Mahogany seedling to be exposed to the sunlight for the better growth o the plant. Mahogany prefers a warm climate.

Mahogany tree leaves are light green in color, & eight to ten inches long & three inches wide. Mahogany tree drops its leaves spring season.

Mahogany tree starting flowering when it attains the diameter of one foot. Mahogany has various colors of flowers as per their species. Its flowers have a good fragrance which attracts honey bees.

Mahogany wood is counted durable for the fabrication of furniture & it is good for carving works too. Mahogany tree redwood is high in demand due to its aesthetic look, water-resistant & strength. 

Mahogany tree fruit use to control sugar in the blood. Its seed powder used in constipation & relieves minor pain. Mahogany bark extract is utilised as an astringent in injuries, it is good in dysentery & fever.

Mahogany wood is the prize-winning wood in India & it is used to make furniture, boats, musical instruments.
