Botanical Name – Citrus X Sinensis

The orange tree is small & the beautiful tree loaded with ball-like oranges. Orange is citric fruit & it belongs to Rutaceae family. Oranges are full of juice. Its taste is sweet & tangy. Oranges are from Northwest China & North East India. The fruit has a bright orange colour skin, its sweet smell attract the honey bees.

Orange tree goes to a height of fifteen to twenty feet, & diameter eight to ten inches. 

Orange Leaves size is two to four inches long, & dark green in colour. 

"Boil Orange leaves in water, & on cooling add little sugar in it with mint. The prepared blend is very good for sound sleep".

Orange trees spread diameter is in twenty feet area. Orange tree produces the fruit until the age of eighteen to twenty years.

Orange tree can be sown by seed & it germinates within two weeks. Seeded tree bear fruit in fifteen years, & grafted tree fruit in three to four years.

Orange flowers buds blossom in early winter, & develops by the spring season. The white orange tree flowers have a sweet smell that attracts honey bees. Majority of flowers fall without setting fruits & these flowers are used for medicinal purpose. Orange tree harvest can be taken once in a producing year.

Orange fruit is dark green in colour when raw & change its colour to orange when ripe. Once the orange is bigger & heavy in size it’s time to take the harvest. 

Oranges stay on the tree for four to seven months till getting mature. Fruit skin is thin, & have an aromatic smell. 

"Dry orange peel powder is used for medicinal purpose & said to be good for the skin".

Oranges are a rich source of 'vitamin-C' which keeps your immune system healthy. Oranges are rich in fibre & easily edible which helps to lower cholesterol levels. A glass full of orange juice is better than vitamin ‘C’ supplements.
