Botanical Name – Prunus Persica

Peachtree is a  deciduous tree native to the region of Northwest China. Its bears a juicy fruit with edible pulp. Peach belongs to the Rosaceae family. Peach is a seasonal fruit& it is widely cultivated in India.

Peachtree grows up to fourteen feet, & diameter between eight to ten inches. 

Peach leaves are four to six inches long & one inch wide. Peach leaves are glossy green. Peach trees are short-lived & live for eight to twelve years.

Peachtree can be sown by seed, the seed takes few weeks to a month to germinate. It grows well in sandy soil & holds the roots tight within a year.  

The peach plant gets ready to fruit within three to four years. Peachtree flowers blossoms in the early month of the year & ready by summers. Flowers are pink in colour.

Peachtree fruit is green in colour & change its colour to a reddish yellow on ripening. Its yellowish pulp is juicy & have a velvet surface. Generally, the pulp is soft bruised,  in commercial varieties, it is green.

The peach fruit consists of one big brown peach seed, it looks like an almond seed. 

To get the good harvest cultivators to prune the tree time to time which keeps the height of the tree low.

Peach is a good source of vitamin A & found to be good for your health. Antioxidants & vitamin C rich fresh peaches can be good for human health. 

Peach is found to be good for eyesight related night vision issue, good in indigestion, may improve heart functioning, protect your skin.
