Botanical Name: Vitis
Grapes are the fruit that grows in bunches. Grapes are black, green & yellow in color. Grapes have many varieties, & sizes according to the local climates of the countries. Grapes' origin is of Mediterrane & America. Grape is from the family of Vitaceae
The grape tree is also known as the grapevine. Grape tree height up to eight feet & can climb up to forty feet. Grapevine trunk shape is zigzag.
All soil types are suitable for grapes cultivation, but the fertile soils give better grapevine crops. Grape soil bed of grape cultivation to be kept wet it is good for the crop. Standing water is not good for the cultivation of grapes. New seeds are grown by sowing cuttings directly into the soil. Grape seeds take four to eight weeks to grow.
Grape leaves grow alternately & light green
color. Grapevine leaves are teethed at the edges. Grapevine leaves have a
special flavor when these leaves are wrapped with the food & cooked it
leaves a nice flavor.
Grapevine starts blooming in the month of March & in the month of May June Grapevines start to flower. Grapes flowers are greenish-yellow in color & carry a very nice fragrance. Its fruit is berries (grapes) which are full of sweet in taste & juicy too. Grapes have a lot of varieties & colors according to their geographical conditions. Grapes have many sizes & colors light green, golden yellow, red & purple.
Grapes cultivation is done for different purposes – as fruit, as wine, as jams & as a raisin. Grape is a life-giving edible fruit that keeps you hydrated during the summers. Grapes are rich in fiber & good for digestion.
Grapes are rich in vitamin-C & antioxidant which is good for the human health.
Grape seeds are beneficial for cardiac health, control cholesterol helps to control constipation, good for weight loss & good for reducing joints paint.
In India grapes production is done on large scale- Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu are the largest cultivators states.
