English Name: Tinospora Cordifolia(Giloy)            

Sanskrit Name : Guduchi

Giloy or Guduchi (Tinospora) may be a rejuvenating herb for the body. The plant is additionally referred to as Giloe, Gulancha, Guduchi (Hindi), Amrita (Sanskrit), and Heartleaf moonseed (English). 

A cup of hot giloy kadha boosts immunity magically. Consuming giloy kadhha daily keeps us fighting fit against various viral & unseen infectious diseases. We need freshly cut mature giloy stems six to ten inches, 5 to 6 black peppers, a small piece of fresh ginger, a clove, a pinch of cinnamon, salt & turmeric, and basil leaves to prepare kadha.
How to make Giloy juice for immunity?
Preparation: Boil two cups of water & add crushed giloy & basil leaves, boil for two minutes then add crushed ginger, pepper (crushed), a clove, a pinch of cinnamon powder, a pinch of turmeric powder & a pinch of salt. Let it boil for 8-10 minutes till it remains half. Consume it hot in sips. (avoid consuming food for half an hour)  

Giloy Juice: Very good in dengue & chikungunya fever it improves platelet count, controls diabetes, improves digestion, improves immunity, and is quite effective in hyperacidity.

You can take two spoons of giloy juice twice a day post half an hour of meals.

The plant may be as powerful as Rasayana mentioned in Indian Ayurved. Giloy is considered a bitter tonic and a powerful immunity booster. Giloy develops intelligence & promotes mental clarity. 

It is described together with the Medhya Rasayana (mental rejuvenation) within the Charak Samhita.

Giloy is being used in Indian Ayurveda to make medicines for the treatment of jaundice, diabetes, and arthritis & is additionally used as an immune stimulant. 

Giloy is a bitter tonic, & purifies blood, the carminative digestive. Giloy's roots & stem starch are used in diarrhea & dysentery. 

Giloy-sat (stem & leaves) are used for medicinal purposes.  Internally, Giloy is an effective rejuvenation tonic. Giloy keeps the body system in balance & works on all the seven 'Dhatus'. 

Tonic (kadha) enhances memory, bestows longevity, & improves general health, better complexion, energy, & lustre of skin.

In Vata doshas diseases, it's given with butter oil (ghee), in pitta doshas diseases with sugar, in Kapha doshas diseases with honey. 

Giloy is especially helpful with digestive ailments like hyperacidity, colitis, worm infestations & loss of appetite, abdominal pain, excessive thirst, emesis, & liver disorders like hepatitis.

Giloy is the first choice in treating Gout(vatarakta) remedies. Decoction of Giloy & Sonth may be a very effective combination for the treatment of gout & rheumatic disorders. Fresh juice of Giloy is useful for gout if it is taken for two to three months. Purified Shilajit with the Giloy juice is useful for gout if taken twice daily.
